Founded in 1953, The Glynn Art Association is the oldest member-supported not-for-profit art organization in Glynn County. We represent over 165 member-artists with a new show each month in the Gallery on Mallery. Our membership has grown to over 650 from all over the country.
The Glynn Art Association offers workshops and classes in drawing, pastels, painting in watercolor and oil/acrylic, and photography. We also maintain and offer year round classes for children and adults at our pottery and sculpture studio on Skylane Drive. We sponsor three art festivals yearly and offer eight weeks of children’s art camp in the summer.
Our mission is to promote and encourage creative expression with an emphasis on the visual arts, and enable its integration into the community.
The Glynn Art Board of Directors has selected architect John Rentz and is currently planning for the design and construction of a new Visual Arts Center at the Sea Island and Demere Roads. This three-acre tract of land is a gift of the Sea Island Company. The Association will launch a Capital Campaign early in 2005 for this exciting project. 912-638-8770.
Please stop by our gallery to see this exhibit which runs all year. The Gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00am-5:00pm.
